Holiday Red Beret Styled Two Ways

Happy Friday! Can you believe we’re just a little over a week away from Christmas? I’m taking next Friday off so this is also my last working Friday off 2019 👏🏼

The last couple weeks in NYC have definitely put me in the Christmas spirit with visits to the Palace Hotel and Rockefeller Center. It’s just so easy to be in a festive mood when the entire city is decorated. Even a few of my neighbors have decorated the front of their brownstones or put their trees right in the front window. This weekend I’ll also be heading to the UES to see some more Christmas Decorations and the new Ralph’s Coffee!

During the holidays I rarely have dressy parties or events to go to, so I like to keep things casual and bring on a festive feeling with fun accessories. This year my $16 red beret is definitely the winner. To be totally honest, I felt a little silly wearing it at first but the more I’ve worn it the more I love it. It adds just the right pop of of color to any outfit. As I’ve been hopping around NYC to my favorite Christmas decorations it’s also kept me warm which is a major plus! This has actually been my third year taking Christmas photos at the Palace Hotel Tree and it is still just as magical! You can take a look back ant 2017 and 2016 looks for a bit more holiday outfit inspiration. Clearly over the knee boots have been my favorite winter shoe for a while.

Now for a few beret styling notes…

My number 1 tip for trying out the beret trend is to take a few minutes in front of the mirror when you get yours to figure out the way you like it situated best. Some people like pulling it way down while others leave it perched just barely on their head. There really is no right or wrong way, just what you like best. If you’re like me and are a bit hesitant about the trend start with adding the beret in as the only color in your outfit m and then overtime I’m sure you’ll be wanting to pair it with everything!
