I hope you all had a nice Easter weekend if you were celebrating! I was back home in Massachusetts where we got a touch of spring sunshine, though now I’m back to a snow storm in NYC. I’m hoping if I keep saying spring is coming it will actually happen one of these days… right? But really, if NYC throws another snow storm at me I’m ready to pack up and never come back.
Today’s look is actually one of my favorites I’ve shot in a long time (photos are by Emily by the way!) and it was one of those throw together as you run out the door kind of outfits. If there are two pieces in my wardrobe that help me always feel pulled together it’s a nice jacket and a pair of statement shoes (see examples here, here, and here). Then I like to keep the rest of the look simple.
While I haven’t tried out full monochromatic dressing yet, this white on white combo makes me want to take the plunge. A full white look might seem like a lot for New York in March, but the classic drapey trench on top brought back a bit of the city into the look. And speaking of trench coats, we all need one! I find a common misconception with trench coats is that you to splurge to buy a good one. There are so many good options under $100 and I’ve put together 10 of my favorites ranging from $40 to just under $100 below.
