Sunny Saturday in San Francisco

Let’s preface this post by saying, I kind of fell in love with San Francisco in the short time I was there.

A couple weeks ago I packed up my suitcase and headed to the west coast for a little time OOO with my family. Somehow this was my first time to California (and Oregon later in the trip!), but I can assure you I’ll be back soon. Our trip started with a quick 48-hours in San Francisco before we packed up the car and headed north on the PCH.

I had a lot of expectations since so many people have said “Oh you’d LOVE San Francisco” to me over the years, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. I packed our itinerary a bit tight and everyone’s legs were definitely sore by the end of the day, but I love nothing more than getting to walk everywhere in a new city. Beforehand I put together a personal google map for the trip with all the suggestions I received so that no matter the neighborhood we were in we’d have something to do! If you’re interested you can check it out HERE or at the bottom of the post.

Highlights from our first day…

Lunch at Media Noche followed by exploring the Mission District Murals

Pretending to be part of Full House at the Painted Ladies

Stopping the whole fam whenever I found quintessential SF bougainvillea (the beautiful climbing flowers)

Looking over the marina from the Lyon Street Steps

My San Francisco Travel Tips

While I’m no SF expert, if you only have a short time in the city I highly recommend doing the loop we did so that you can see multiple different parts of the city. We started in The Mission to see the murals, walked to Mission Dolores Park, then headed up towards the Painted Ladies and the Full House House. The last stop for us was walking up to the Lyon Street Steps, but if you’re not too tired or only have one day I’d suggest then heading to Chrissy Field to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Everything is marked on my map, but be warned it’s a lot of walking and you should def wear comfortable shoes (and that is a lot coming from me)!

Shot at the Lyon Street Steps which are in the prettiest (aka expensive) neighborhood! Highly recommend exploring around here 🙂

Of course we needed a coffee stop and Le Marais was perfect!
