2018 has seriously flown by! I know everyone says that and we say it every year, but I have to say this year blew away all my expectations. I did a little year in review over Instagram over on Instagram as well if you’re interested 🙂
Before I jump into major new year new me mode (lol) it’s time it’s time for one of my favorite annual posts – the best purchases of the year! These are the pieces I wore time and time again both in real life and #bloglife. Plus, what I love is that if you look back at past years lists (2017, 2016, and 2014) I still wear many of the pieces featured!
This year’s list was put together both with my favorite pieces and the pieces most clicked by you guys! As I was compiling the list it was fun to see that my favorite pieces actually aligned exactly with the ones you guys shopped the most!
Cognac Bucket Bag
My bucket bag was by far the most clicked on item this year and I’m honestly not surprised since it’s 100% the best purchase I made this year. I’m super particular about handbags, mostly because I am constantly carrying a million things and this bag fits my camera plus an extra lens as well on top of all the normal handbag. It’s already been taken across the pond on my trip to London and I’ve used it pretty much every weekend since I bought it this summer.
Denim Skirt
Denim skirts came back in a real way in 2018 and I’m not mad about it. My classic denim mini skirt was by far my most worn item this year and I’m sure next year will be no different. It easily transitioned from being paired with crop tops during the summer to booties and sweaters come fall. While my exact skirt is sold out this one is almost identical and from my favorite denim brand!
Navy Shearling Jacket
I only brought my shearling jacket home in November, but it’s been one of the most popular pieces on the blog and Instagram this fall. I’d been looking for a trendier shearling jacket, but I love the more classic feel of this coat and it’s actually very warm so I’ll be wearing it all winter long!
Black Over The Knee Boots
I consistently rave about these boots and own them in both grey and now black! Black OTK boots are something every girl should have in their closet to carry you from a trendier office outfit to a night out. This pair is my absolute favorite (hence why I own in two colors) because of their perfect heel height and the fact that they actually stay up!
Brixton Straw Hat
I’ve been wanting a nice straw hat for years and this year I finally pulled the plug on this perfect Brixton hat this summer before a few beach weekends! You don’t need to spend a million dollars for a good hat, but finally purchasing a hat from a reputable brand taught me that quality really does make a difference. Definitely measure your head before ordering as well!
Boyfriend Blazer
My navy blue boyfriend blazer was my only purchase from the Atlantic-Pacific x Halogen collection and boy was it a good purchase. I probably own three or four boyfriend blazers and they are serious wardrobe workhorses. I wear it constantly on weekends with ripped jeans and booties, but the blazer works just as well during the work week with sweater dresses or dark skinny jeans!
Floral Dresses
Both of these dresses were some of the top clicked on pieces of 2018. While I don’t consider myself to have a very feminine style really nothing beats a floral sundress in the spring and summer. Plus, the color on the teal dress is my absolute favorite! You can bet both of these dresses will be getting much more wear in 2019.
